I asked Brian Utz, VP of Product Management at Sopheon: "What is a product that makes your job easier?"I expected to hear the usual: Confluence. Monday. Jira. But instead, he responded with something that surprised me:Reddit. Reddit is a great place to learn what your target audience thinks and dreams about without even asking them. There is a community for nearly EVERYONE on Reddit. When I was looking to learn how to better cold-call doctors and health practices to sell them my digital marketing services years ago, I had no idea where to start. The healthcare industry is not only antiquated, but there are gatekeepers galore. I didn't know where to start with cold calling. But I knew who would; medical sales associates. And they were incredibly active on Reddit. Not only could I read about which cold calling strategies works in tough spaces like healthcare, but I also learned more about the biggest problems health professionals face in general. And I used this to tailor my messaging to speak to why my services are a solution. You can say social media is a lot of things. Annoying. Addictive. A pain in the place where the sun don't shine...But you can't say it's useless! Especially when it comes to market and customer research.#productmanagement #productleader #productleadership #socialmedia

I see a lot of Product Managers (and not only) talk about customer value, about delivering features/products that make an impact for the customer... and have been wondering what it means for you? How do you measure the value? My current answer which has evolved over the years is TIME. You may say that the value is in the product helping me achieve my goal. This may have been the case 10 years ago but right now when there are at least 10 tools out there which do the same, if I had a choice I would go for the one that enables me to achieve my goal the fastest and ideally without the need to switch to another one somewhere on the way. Time matters to me, a lot!I am a Product Manager, I use Jira, unfortunatelywith Notion, Miro, Figima, Gainsight, Hubspot, countless Excel files, Condens, Slack, Mail and so on and so on and how I wished I could do my job with fewer tools :) There is one company from the mentioned ones that has actually understood my needs(and maybe yours as well) and althoughthey still have a long way to go they are at least moving in the right direction. When I work on something and think of its value, I try to think how it would work for my customers end to end and not just help them achieve a task, one of many towards their goal.

Back from the Unplanned Break. Earlier discussions was centered on MVP, what exactly it was and what to consider when choosing one for your product, today I'll be discussing just one MVP and giving examples of when it can be used. The Email MVP.To run this type of MVP you will need an Email Client( this is a software application that is used to access, send and manage emails) , an Email List/ User base and Basic writing Skills. This MVP works well for you if you are an already established company. Due to customer or users interaction with your business you already have a client list gotten through signups, or other contents. For Start-ups you can gather emails with the launch of your product as in the case of the Smoke Test ( please refer to previous post to understand better) or gathering feedback. Worthy of note is that when sending an email to users it is important to make it personal to avoid being flagged or spammed.Remember, Don't just build, build correctly. Build for your customers(users), not for yourself.#linkedin #linkedinfam #productmanagement #productmanagers #product #growth

Let's talk about the $2M ARR 'oh no' moment. You know, when managing product feedback starts to feel like herding cats?Back in the day, with a couple of sales reps and a CSM, life was good. A simple spreadsheet or a Jira board, and boom โ€“ feedback sorted. But then you hit 5 AEs and 3 CSMs, and suddenly, it's like, 'Wait, where did my life go?'It's not just a few notes anymore; it's a full-blown treasure hunt without the map.And oh boy, when you reach 8 AEs and 5 CSMs without some kind of magic wand (like automation), welcome to the jungle! It's pure, unadulterated chaos. Here's a fun fact: Each rep is probably dropping 10-20 calls a week, half of them sprinkled with golden feedback nuggets. Do the math, and you're swimming in 240 anecdotes per head per year at the low end.Just imagine, your PM team is like a lone ranger, outnumbered by the sales army. You've got thousands of feedback bits lost in the email abyss, Slack black hole, and spreadsheet maze, and just one or two PMs playing Indiana Jones. So yeah, that's the moment when things go kaboom. Thoughts?

Ever felt like aligning product and GTM teams is a Herculean task? ๐Ÿ’ช Let me walk you through how we're bridging the gap. ๐Ÿ‘‡Picture this: A CS leader is left stunned and excited. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Why? She stumbled upon a never-before-seen level of clarity in a product roadmap. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธThis is what happened last week when I demoed at Savio Technology Inc. we shined a light ๐Ÿ’ก on our unique feedback loop that operates inside of Hubspot. Product teams donโ€™t just receive feedback - it's rich, detailed input that can be analyzed by customer segments and revenue metrics. But it doesnโ€™t stop there; it also gives teams the power to update GTM on the progress of any projects.Aligning product and GTM has often felt like trying to mix oil and water. Product teams struggle with making sense of feedback, while GTM teams are left in the dark about what's being developed. Well, we're here to blur those lines ๐Ÿ”„ and bridge this gap. Now, a CSM can prepare for a QBR by scanning all feature requests for an account and get real-time status updates. A sales rep can check what's in development or shipped on their account and plan the next positive move. Product teams can now directly influence churn, expansion, and acquisition revenue.Take a peek at this video showcasing our Hubspot widget. Have you seen something like this before? Excited about the possibilities? ๐Ÿ™Œ Let's get the conversation going!Share your thoughts in the comments below, hit that like button if this resonated with you, or better yet, share this with your network who could benefit. ๐Ÿš€Curious for more?
